RIF, Ruff, Ruff

.

It’s a DOGgone great time to part of Day of Giving

.

Lassie, Clifford, Perdita, Pongo, and 101 other Dalmations, Old Dan and Little Ann, The Poky Little Puppy, Toto, Krypto, Marmaduke, and Snoopy were all hanging out on the same page and they agreed, “Ruff, ruff. This Day of Giving idea is about as popular as we are. Wonder who will be the first to make a donation so some child can love us as much as they once did?

As a writer and avid reader, this one is close to my heart. I believe it is so important to make sure that all children have access to books and are given the opportunity to achieve success as they develop a love of reading. Whether they are books about dogs (The Poky Little Puppy is stilll one of my favorites – I do a great mama dog voice!), cats, wizards, or wimpy kids, I’m happy we have an organization like Reading is FUNdamental Pittsburgh (RIFPittsburgh) to bring books and reading programs to area children.  Help RIFPittsburgh on October 3rd during the 2013 Day of Giving.

“Outside of a dog, a book is man’s best friend. Inside of a dog it’s too dark to read. –

Dear Friend of RIF Pittsburgh,

Next Thursday, October 3rd, your gift to RIF Pittsburgh will go even further. On The Pittsburgh Foundation’s Day of Giving any donation between $25-$1,000 made through PittsburghGives.org will be partially matched, ensuring that your support will have an even greater impact on the children and families that we serve.

Give to Reading Is FUNdamental Pittsburgh at any time on October 3rd through PittsburghGives.org, and you can join the movement to close the literacy gap in our community. Your investment in RIF Pittsburgh’s future is also an investment in the future of our community’s children.

Whether you donate on the Day of Giving or any other day of the year, we appreciate your support. With your help, we can continue to provide valuable literacy programming to the children and families in our community who need it the most.

                     Happy Reading!
