More than anything, please know that if you are living in an abusive relationship, there is help and you can get out. I promise you, that even though it isn’t easy, when you come out on the other side, you will feel so empowered and find the happiness you deserve. A WCS resident story:

It’s been about 10 days since I came to Women’s Center & Shelter for the second time. I can remember the initial fear; the not knowing what would happen or what could happen, and the numerous concerns I had of not being able to care for my infant daughter and myself. That initial fear is why I left shelter and went back to him the first time. I came here a few months back and only stayed here for 3 days. I thought it would be better when I returned home, because he said it would be. But it only got worse, worse than it was before. Below are two exciting match opportunities for you to make a donation to Women’s Center & Shelter!Option 1:

The Day of Giving 2013 will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 12:00 a.m. ET until 11:59:59 p.m. ET.

Prorated Match: The Foundation will divide a total of $750,000 (provided by The Pittsburgh Foundation, The Jack G. Buncher Charitable Fund, The Colcom Foundation, and The Robert Waters Fund) among the participating Allegheny County nonprofits, including Women’s Center & Shelter.

Only credit card donations received through www.pittsburghgives.org during the 24 hours of October 3, will be matched for this event. No donations via check, cash or stock will be accepted.

Each gift is 100% tax deductible! The credit card charge will display as a donation to “The Pittsburgh Foundation” on the donor’s credit card statement.

Option 2:

A donation through our End of Year Appeal will be matched dollar for dollar! Please click here to go to our donation form. Under “What prompted you to support us today?” choose “End of Year Match” to contribute directly to Women’s Center & Shelter and receive a 100% match from an anonymous local foundation!
